Double Jump Spirit
Some friends have started their own podcast and I need to take a minute to not applaud them but get some facts straight about my gaming reputation.

Minecraft plus one
We’re doomed. Jen likes Minecraft. I didn’t expect her to like it but she’s invested now, iPhone app and all. That’s all fine and well but I wasn’t expecting to enjoy playing with other people. Minecraft successfully straddles the gap between solo and multiplayer wonderfully.

Competition only makes you stronger
It’s true what they say, that competition only makes things better. To end what has been a pretty exciting year, my friend Jared and I competed in an all-day video game marathon. I ended up winning big but I owe it all to my opponent.

One Box of Memories only $25
Sentimentality is curse…especially when you’re trying to clean and organize your home. We just sold a box of more than 100 CDs for a mere $25 and watching some of them go was tough, and it really shouldn’t be, should it?

Catching up with Blu-ray
Thanks to an unexpected Christmas present of a Blu-ray player, I now have to catch up with the rest of the world. But the big question is, what movies do I need to re-buy, if any?

Four Score and Seven Pongs Ago
I finally get a chance to put my arcade gaming skills to good use as I try to defeat a friend in a year-end gaming marathon. If all goes as planned, you can even watch me win from the comfort of your own home.

No regretsy with Etsy for me
I decided to try and sell some of my handmade goods recently and rather than go with eBay I tried Etsy, which specializes in homemade items but I had some doubts about the reach of Etsy. However, those doubts were quickly squashed.

The new Three Stooges movie
There’s a Three Stooges movie coming out next year and while my first reaction has me calling blasphemy and expectations of tarnishing my beloved Stooges’ reputation, the recent trailer shows a glimmer of hope.

The Xbox Metro update misses the mark
A new Xbox update came out this week and I was looking forward to it. I like the new Metro look that Microsoft is pushing, but when it comes to organizing information there’s still a long way to go.

Many weeks, many posts, just not here
Things have slowed here at Morning Toast since the summer. Since I started writing for TMA Toys & Games, most of the video game and toy topics I would talk about here have gone there, but I need to stop being so lazy and find other things to talk about. Pretty soon that shouldn’t be [...]

Wendy’s magic soda machine
I am a soda drinker. I probably drink my weight in soda every week (which probably makes my dentist very happy). And while I have a favorite, root beer, I’m open to just about any other soda there is to be had. Brown, clear, red, b lue…doesn’t matter…and that’s why the new fountain drink machines [...]

Radiant Silvergun review
Radiant Silvergun, one of the most sought after shmups ever is finally available on Xbox . The game play and challenge is the stuff of greatness, but don’t think that will make it easy.

The other problem with He-Man
I recently gave my two cents about He-Man action figures over at TMA Toys, but after I wrote it and thought about it more, I think there is a “deeper” reason I just don’t like He-Man.

The lost art of intermission
Another summer of classic movies is over. The lineup this summer was great including 20,000 Leagues, Tron and it ended with Vertigo. Every movie in the series featured an intermission and that got me wondering if intermissions could be brought back to life.

For the love of movies
One of the best things about the summertime is the CAPA Columbus Summer Movie Series, which shows old and modern classics every weekend for a couple months. This summer has had a wonderful line-up of movies including Tron, The Sound of Music, Vertigo and Airplane!, but none of those films have me more excited than [...]

Bastion serves up RPG action
Bastion was the first game in Xbox’s Summer of Arcade and it turned out to be a wonderful way to start. A throw back to the SNES days, Bastion is an full-action RPG that looks great, plays great and just doesn’t disappoint.

MTV, the good kid that went astray
August 1st marked the 30th anniversary of MTV, a cable channel that used to mean something…a channel that used to be important. While MTV has become cliche and used to classify everything except music, MTV is an important marker in television history and has most certainly affected all of us, myself quite a bit.

My secret love affair with shoes
I have a confession to make. I love shoes. You probably know me for my thoughts on video games, Hot Wheels, cartoons and other forms of entertainment, but I also long to have a collection of really awesome shoes. However, fortunately for me (and you) shoes are pretty expensive and thus prohibitive for me to [...]

How CM Punk is saving pro wrestling
CM Punk may be single-handedly saving pro wrestling. There was a time when wrestling performers took their characters seriously. The good guys weren’t seen with bad guys outside the ring, and the faces hugged the children while the heels slapped them. You knew it was all fake, but even then you weren’t quite sure where [...]

Catherine promises to be a hard challenge
I’ve been reading about the upcoming game Catherine for a while. It’s received a lot of buzz thanks to the mature rating and tantalizing box art, but beyond that I didn’t know what type of game it was. My hope is always that it’s some sort of bullet hell shooter, but in this case, it’s [...]

CAVEradio is back on the air, again
So Jen decided it was time to start doing the radio show again…and that means your Wednesday nights will never be the same. This is easily the fourth or fifth time we’ve “returned” to the show and it will happen again, but while we’re back this time, won’t you join us?

Words with Friends is not about words
“Cheating” is such a strong word. Cheating suggests you’re doing something others can’t do to get an unfair advantage. Do I use help when playing Words with Friends? Yes, yes I do. Am I cheating? No, and here’s why.

Minecraft dreams
I’m addicted to Minecraft. I didn’t expect it. In fact, I had already written off Minecraft as a game I didn’t like. However, thanks to some good old fashioned peer pressure, I’m now a Minecraft addict.
